2/14/16 - I've returned from the dead to post the final chapter of The Art of the Fugue :P
5/27/15 - After five long years, I've returned to finish off The Art of the Fugue. I've posted chapter 9 and there will be one more chapter after that. It's been so long since I've even been on PDS and SDS that I had some trouble with the formatting, but everything finally looks normal in the chapter preview, so hopefully there are no weird HTML issues left.
12/26/10 - Finally updated. Well, at least I made it before the New Year's, yeah? This is one of the smallest fandoms I've ever joined. It's a bit weird not having other fans/writers around.
So, a little about me. I am one of those old fans who have turned bitter about the direction that LKH has taken with the ABVH series. I tend to get ranty about things like (IMO) the godawful new covers for the series, for one. I own the first 11 or 12 books in their most original covers and let me just tell you, I would never have picked up a book from this series if I'd seen the various Saw wannabe torture devices that they've chosen for the covers of books like The Lunatic Cafe and The Killing Dance. I am not kidding, to have the cover of The Killing Dance, a book I absolutely ADORED, reduced to some meaningless screw tool--ARRGGH.
In other words, I would be one of those former fans that LKH whined about in interviews and blogs, one of those fans who was horrified when a great series turned into a series of badly written porn scenes interspersed with some angsting about consent and glossed over with some kind of "all pointless sex can ultimately be justified because it's necessary for power/to save our lives/it was unintentional/it's caused by metaphysics/etc."
Okay. Let me stop my rant here. This is my profile from back in 2008 or so: I'm the proud owner of BeElleGee's JC in the Mirror - her art and writing were some of the things that drew me into writing fanfiction for the ABVH fandom. As you can probably tell from the stories below, I have a particular fondness for Jean-Claude, Asher, and Jason. I'm even pretty fond of Micah, but that's about it. That's not to say I hate the others, but I don't particularly like Anita having so many men since I feel that there isn't enough time spent on their characterization, other than being pretty and sexy in various ways. I sometimes like to pretend that the series ended around Danse Macabre, so you'll never see me writing about Anita's later boytoys *cough* werelions and weretigers.
I definitely started out as one of the younger members of this site and it probably shows in my writing, but it's been over ten years now and I've grown up quite a bit. Unfortunately, my stories are stuck at what was written back then, so you might find an obsession with hurt/comfort themes and some rather overblown angst.

Let me explain to you when, exactly, I realized that I would no longer be able to read LKH without ending up in anger management. This is from the first chapter of Shutdown, the story she wrote that was supposed to be about Richard all grown up because of "therapy" but goddamn if his fiance isn't going to be a bitch, because she can't possibly be as good as Anita, of course:
“Dr. Ellen Radborne was about my height, 5' 3" with thick shoulder length brunette hair that I might have thought was black, but my hair was black, so I knew hers was really just dark brown. Her eyes were brown, like mine, though again mine were a little darker. She had a pale summer tan, to my nearly white skin, but then my skin never tanned, it just burned, and then went back to being pale. She was curvy, maybe not as curvy through the chest as me, but no man who liked breasts would complain that she lacked. She was in shape, though not as fit as I, but then I doubt she needed to hit the weights and cardio as hard for her job as I did for mine.”
Is this a parody? Did I seriously just read that?
